Hackers Targeting Instant Messengers
misleading messages on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) or Instant Messaging (IM) services often warn users that their computers are already infected with a virus. The bogus warning then instructs them to go to a Web address and download a program to clean their machine or face being banned from the IRC or IM system they're using.
